‘How to Read the Air’ Author Dinaw Mengestu Visits UW

January 30, 2014 — MacArthur “Genius” Grant Fellow Dinaw Mengestu will visit the University of Wyoming as an Eminent Writer in Residence this term. In a series of visits to campus, he will lead workshops with Master of Fine Arts Creative Writing students, hold public readings in Laramie and Jackson, and visit with undergraduate students in the Multicultural Resource Center and the creative writing minor.

UW Creative Writing Students to Read Works Friday

January 29, 2014 — Three students in the University of Wyoming Master of Fine Arts Creative Writing Program will read from their original work at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31,in the Alice Hardie Stevens Center at the Laramie Plains Museum. The event is free and open to the public.

Eminent Writer Sherwin Bitsui to Give Public Reading Sept. 13

September 5, 2013 — Navajo poet Sherwin Bitsui, an eminent writer-in-residence at the University of Wyoming this fall, will give a public reading and sign books at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in the Wyoming Union Senate Chambers.

UW’s Watson Receives Academy of Arts and Letters Award

March 28, 2013 — University of Wyoming Associate English Professor Brad Watson has added another national honor to his list of fiction-writing awards.
