The Opportunity
Through the Wyoming Lactation Workforce Program, the Rural Health Institute will cover the full cost of the UCSD Pathway 2 lactation education program, which is an accessible route for qualified candidates such as nurses and other allied health professionals to complete the didactic and clinical hours required to sit for the IBLCE exam required for IBCLC certification, plus the cost of the IBLCE certification exam itself.
Each year for three years, two Wyoming residents will be selected to receive this tuition assistance, with a preference for candidates committed to practicing in underserved or frontier areas of Wyoming after certification. By the program's conclusion, six new IBCLCs will be trained and ready to serve communities across the state.

HOW TO APPLY
Attend the Wyoming Maternal Health Summit for early access. Attendees of the inaugural WY Maternal Health Summit (Laramie, WY — September 2–3) can register at the UCSD/Rural Health Institute table for early access to the application, ahead of the general public opening. Register for the Summit here.
Applications open to the public on September 21. Everyone else can apply once the general application window opens.
All applications are due November 13.
*Being selected for the Wyoming Lactation Workforce Program does not guarantee acceptance into the UCSD Pathway 2 program. Once notified, selected individuals must complete and submit their own official application, transcripts, and prerequisites directly to UCSD, and are subject to UCSD's own admissions review.
