Office Hours: Tuesday 12:00 - 5:00 p.m., but please email Professor Pritchett prior to attending her Tuesday office hours to ensure that she is not in court or with clinic students.

Suzan Pritchett is an Associate Professor and Faculty Director of the Family and Immigrant Justice Clinic. She joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor and the Director of the International Human Rights Clinic in the fall of 2014.  Prior to joining the permanent faculty, she was a Visiting Professor and the Robert J. Golten Fellow at the College of Law, where she co-directed the International Center for Law and Advocacy. Professor Pritchett has also worked in private practice representing clients in federal immigration matters.

Professor Pritchett graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, where she served as an editor for Transnational Law and Contemporary Problems and was the recipient of several public interest and human rights awards. After law school, she clerked for the Executive Office for Immigration Review through the Department of Justice Attorney General's Honors Program and for the judges of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, where she drafted appellate decisions in cases involving requests for asylum, withholding of removal, and relief under the Convention Against Torture.

Professor Pritchett holds a BA degree in Religious Studies with a concentration in Gender and Women’s Studies from Grinnell College and an MA with distinction in Gender and International Development from the University of Sussex in England. She has extensive experience in the areas of gender, asylum, and human rights law and has worked in the Africa Division of Human Rights Watch as a Cmiel Fellow and with the international NGOs Womankind Worldwide in London and Legal Momentum in New York.
