B.A.,   Spanish Literature, Florida State University. Minor in Italian.

Italian Language and Culture, Dante Alligier Instituto Italiano. Florence, Italy.

Research

My research interests include all that encompasses Latina/o Chicana/o Diaspora Studies, Literature and Culture; Mexican American Studies; LGBTQA Identites; U.S. Latino Immigration; Visual Art and Culture; Media; Theater and Performance.

I also incorporate Civilizations of the U.S Southwest; Afro-Hispanic Caribbean Poetry; Indigenous Studies; U.S. Latina/o Religious Hybridity and Asian Latina/o Literature and Documentaries in my courses.

In regards to history and politics, U.S. Latinos/as Chicanas/os in Military and Sports are also of strong interest.

I am active in building bridges between community and academia, and I am honored to hold the Rudolfo Anaya One Year Visiting Professor position at University of Wyoming.
