Applications to MCLS

All students MUST submit the information listed directly below. The evaluation of applicants can only proceed once all materials have been received.

1) An electronic resume/CV listing credentials including education, research, publications, and relevant work experience. (Use PDF format).

2) An electronic letter of intent describing your motivation for pursuing a Ph.D. in the molecular sciences and your reasons for applying to the MCLS program at UW in particular. (Use PDF format).

3) Official transcripts from all post-secondary Institutions that the student has attended. These should be sent directly from the educational institutions themselves. Photocopies of transcripts or transcripts sent directly by the applicant WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

4) Three letters of recommendation sent directly by the writers. These letters should be sent electronically in PDF format directly by the reviewers. In addition, we also require that hard copies of these letters be sent by mail.

5) GREs are strongly recommended but are not strictly mandatory for admission. For most applicants, however, GREs will be an important criterion for judging student potential and will be a necessary component of a competitive application. GRE transcripts/scores should be sent directly from the testing company at the same time that other aspects of the application are being completed.

6) For international students, TOEFL scores are also strongly encouraged and may in many cases be required by the graduate school for admission. We therefore highly encourage all international applicants to have their official TOEFL transcripts/scores sent directly from the testing company at the same time that they complete other aspects of their application.

7) Please tell us where you first learned of MCLS. If you first learned of MCLS through the web, please be specific about the mechanism that brought you to our site (e.g., Google search, gradschools.com etc.).

The electronic components of this application (resume, letter of intent, recommendation letters) should be sent to:

MCLS, mcls@uwyo.edu

The required hard copies of the above materials (official transcripts, recommendation letters, and test scores) above should be sent directly to:
