Application Deadline: Dec. 1

Program Overview

The University of Wyoming's Clinical Psychology Doctoral (Ph.D.) program is fully accredited by the American Psychological Association*. The five-year program consists of four academic years and a 12-month pre-doctoral internship. Our clinical training follows the scientist-practitioner model. We emphasize training students as psychological scientists who critically evaluate research literature and approach therapy and assessment from a scientifically valid framework. Our clinical faculty have expertise in empirically supported assessment and intervention methods. We have active research programs in broad areas of:
  • Eating disorders
  • Substance abuse
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • ADHD in college students
  • Couples and caregivers
  • Health and aging; Health and serious mental illness
  • Suicide and self-injurious behaviors
Our program provides a balance of training in both research and clinical skills. As scientist-practitioners, our graduates are able to successfully pursue postdoctoral fellowships, staff psychologist positions, and faculty appointments in academic and medical settings.
