Mission

SER is focused on academics, outreach and research to yield energy-driven economic development for Wyoming. The Nuclear Energy Research Center is focused on interdisciplinary nuclear-energy capacity building across UW, and dedicated to developing collaborative relationships both external and internal to UW focused on nuclear energy research.

Given that increased deployment of nuclear energy faces both technical and non-technical challenges, NERC focuses on both the social sciences and the hard sciences to help futher energy solutions.

NERC seeks to connect members of the UW community and beyond in social science fields that will help advance the emerging nuclear energy market and tackle important issues related to economics, social license, law/regulatory policy, communication, anthropology, etc. 

Advanced Energy Solutions 

NERC promotes researchers dedicated to improving efficient and effective nuclear technology in the fields of chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, mechanical engineering, physics, computer sciences, electrical engineering, geology, etc.
