Prexy's Pasture

At the heart of the University of Wyoming campus is a large grassy area known as Prexy's Pasture. Prexy's was originally a true pasture where UW's first president allegedly kept his personal herd of cattle. If you were riding a horse today instead of walking, it would still be legal to leave your horse in Prexy's. All of the surrounding buildings are at least partially constructed of native Wyoming sandstone mined from the same quarry. Robert Russin's modern marble sculpture, University of Wyoming Family, is located at the center of Prexy's Pasture.
