Mission Statement

Student Activities Council shall strive to provide quality programming which promotes student development.

What does SAC do?

SAC stands for Student Activities Council which is one of the student groups on campus that brings you events.  Most SAC events are free and open to all students, although from time to time SAC will have an event that will cost a small amount of money.  Most SAC events are held on Wednesday nights. Click here to see a list of our past programs!

Who can be a member of SAC?

Anybody who is a student at UW can be a member of SAC.

When does SAC meet?

SAC meets every Monday at 4:00pm in the Campus Activities Center located in the lower level of the Wyoming Union.  Come share your ideas of what events you want to have at UW.

Where does SAC get its money to bring in events?

SAC is funded out of the Union student fee.  Every year a portion of student fees are put into an account for SAC.  This money is then used to program concerts and events.  The account is run through the Union and the budget is approved annually by the Union Board.

What is the difference between SAC and Concerts & Convocations (C&C)?

Concerts and Convocations plans one to two big concerts or events a semester and there is a cost for these shows.  They book bigger events then SAC.  SAC books an event every week if not two events a week and except for a few times a year the events are free to students.

What type of events does SAC book?

You name it, we will book it!  SAC tries to bring a diverse group of events to the students at UW.  SAC has booked music, comedy, films, speakers, and spoken word, just to name a few.  Anything is a possibility.

Who gets to decide what kind of events come to campus?

The students that sit on SAC make the choices of what kind of events come to campus. There is an advisor to SAC that helps the committee make smart choices, but the programming is done by the students.
