Annual Islamic Cultural Awareness Week

The University of Wyoming's Muslim Students Association (MSA) will host a variety of discussions and events during the annual Islamic Cultural Awareness Week March 10-13. All events are non-ticketed and open to public.

Faculty and students are encouraged to participate in a Tuesday, March 10, Mosque and Crescent Scavenger Hunt. Participants can find these cutout shapes along with Islamic facts throughout the UW campus, which can later be redeemed at the MSA table in the Wyoming Union breezeway.

"The Imam and the Pastor," a movie focusing on Christian-Muslim relationships, will be shown from 7:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, in the Wyoming Union Senate Chambers. Free pizza and beverages will be provided.

Thursday, March 12, Yusuf Yee, former U.S. Army captain and Muslim chaplain to Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp, will present "Islam, Justice and Civil Rights" from 5-7 p.m. in the College of Agriculture auditorium. The talk will be followed by free pizza and beverages.

The week will end with a Friday prayer and free snacks from 1:15-2 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Yellowstone Ballroom.
