"Poke Pride is UW Pride" is the theme of the 2010 University of Wyoming Homecoming week, Oct. 11-16. Activities for the week will include reunions, pig roasts, comedians and the time-honored parade and football game.

Among the highlights:

Tuesday, Oct. 12 -- ASUW will host a pig roast in Prexy's Pasture at 11 a.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 13 -- Comedian Ron White will perform at 8 p.m. at the UW College of Arts & Sciences auditorium. Tickets, $18 for UW students and $28 for others, will be sold at the Wyoming Union information desk, the Fine Arts Center box office, and online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Thursday, Oct. 14 -- Iron Skull's annual Homecoming Sing will take place at 7 p.m. in the Arts & Sciences auditorium. The UW Symphony Orchestra will open its season with a 7 p.m. performance in the Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $10 for the public, $6 for students and $7 for senior citizens. Call (307) 766-6666 to order tickets. Tickets are also available at www.uwyo.edu/finearts, or at the Fine Arts and Wyoming Union box offices.

Friday, Oct. 15 -- Several open houses and alumni reunions will take place throughout the day. The Keith and Thyra Thomson Honors Convocation will be at 3 p.m. in the UW College of Arts & Sciences auditorium. At 3 p.m., the College of Engineering and Applied Science will host the H.T. Person Lecture and Homecoming reception with guest speaker Joe Leimkuhler, an offshore well delivery manager for Shell E&P-Americas.

Saturday, Oct. 16 -- UW's Homecoming parade will begin at 10 a.m. The parade starts at 9th and Ivinson streets, goes west to 2nd Street, south on 2nd Street to Grand Avenue, then east on Grand to 12th Street. Tailgate Park opens at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and the Homecoming football game against Utah kicks off at 4 p.m. in War Memorial Stadium.
