UW Trustees Approve New Degree Program, Name Change
November 18, 2010 — The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees today (Thursday) approved one new degree program and the change in name of another degree program.
The new Master of Arts (MA) in Molecular Biology will expand opportunities for student recruitment beyond the university's existing Masters of Science (MS) program. The MA degree will emphasize coursework rather than original research for students seeking work in areas such as science education, science policy, forensic science and training in patent law or the arts.
Trustees also approved a request by the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources to change the name of its graduate MS program from Agricultural Economics to Agricultural and Applied Economics. The name change more accurately reflects the scope of research interests among faculty and the corresponding study opportunities for graduate students.
