UW Emergency Preparedness Fair is April 8

Information for the campus about emergency resources will be presented at an Emergency Preparedness Fair Tuesday and Wednesday, April 8-9, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Union breezeway.

“We want to inform the campus community about UW programs for emergency preparedness and planning, and emergency preparedness and response services provided by local agencies,” says Nancy Fox, UW Environmental Health and Safety Department director.

She says participants will learn about the university’s Emergency Response Plan and the Building Emergency Action Plan. Weather permitting, individuals will be able to practice using a fire extinguisher on the west side of the Wyoming Union, and search and rescue equipment will be stationed on Simpson Plaza.

Participating groups are: UW Police Department, UW Environmental Health and Safety, Albany County Emergency Management, American Red Cross of Wyoming, Albany County Sheriff’s Department, Laramie Police Department, Laramie Fire Department and the UW ROTC Posse Club.
