Services including same day voter registration and transportation to the polls will be offered at the University of Wyoming during Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Pokes Vote (www.uwyo.edu/union/slce/pokes-vote/index.html), a nonpartisan cooperative campaign at UW, offers the services to maximize student civic engagement and leadership development through voter education, registration and turnout. Pokes Vote is committed to engage college-aged students in the democratic process by voting.

In Wyoming, voters can register the day of the election. To determine polling location visit http://soswy.state.wy.us/Elections/PollPlace/Default.aspx. The polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Make sure when you register or vote you are 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen and not a convicted felon. Identification is required, which can be a driver’s license, student ID, passport, Social Security card, birth certificate, draft record or certification of naturalization.

Pokes Vote Election Day activities include:

-- Cup o’ Joe for the Average Joe, 8-10 a.m. at Simpson Plaza. Grab a cup of coffee, a voter guide and find your polling location.

-- Voter information, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. near the Wyoming Union Breezeway west entrance. Stop by to receive a nonpartisan voter guide, polling locations and voter registration information.

-- Civic celebration, 5-8 p.m., Wyoming Union lower level. Celebrate the democratic process with free apple pie, ice cream, election results and billiards at Pete’s Game Room.

-- Transportation to the polls. Bus transportation will be provided to those voting at the National Guard Armory, 2901 Armory Road. The campus commuter bus or the east lot bus will stop near the armory. For details, visit the transit system map at www.uwyo.edu/tap/_files/mapfiles/2014shuttleroutes.pdf.
