Country singer Kip Moore will kick off the football season with a Sept. 2 concert at UW.

The Cowboy KICKOFF concert and pep rally is back at the University of Wyoming Friday, Sept. 2, featuring country singer Kip Moore.

This year’s event, produced by Townsquare Media (KOWB and KCGY radio in Laramie) in cooperation with UW, will be at War Memorial Stadium on the UW campus. Gates will open at 6 p.m., and the entertainment will begin at 7 p.m.

Moore, whose hits include the No. 1 smash “Somethin’ ’Bout a Truck,” “Beer Money” and “Running for You,” will be the featured performer. Wyoming native Josh Dorr will be the opening act.

“We are extremely excited about the ambiance being provided to the Cowboy KICKOFF as we move the concert into War Memorial Stadium,” says Bob Price, regional vice president of Townsquare Media.

The Pokes host Northern Illinois in War Memorial Stadium Saturday, Sept. 3. Kickoff will be at 8:30 p.m.  Special concert and game ticket packages will be available.

“We’re delighted to have the third year of Cowboy KICKOFF in War Memorial Stadium. We truly think this will add not only to the excitement, but also to the attendance of this annual event,” says Jan Whitbeck, marketing and campus relations coordinator for UW Residence Life and Dining Services.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.cowboykickoff.com.

Advance tickets cost $30 for adults, $20 for UW students with ID and $10 for children under 12 years of age. Adult and student tickets purchased at the gate will be $10 higher. Concert and game combination tickets also are available for $60.

Concessions will be available onsite at War Memorial Stadium.
