Tickets are on sale to University of Wyoming students for the Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats concert Friday, March 24, at 9 p.m. in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.

Tickets for the public will go on sale Monday, Feb. 20. Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats will perform with Dragondeer.

Tickets cost $20 for students and $40 for the public. Tickets are available at the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts box office and the Wyoming Union information desk, by calling (307) 766-6666 or going online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Rateliff grew up in rural Missouri and began playing the drums at age 7. At 18, he moved to Denver, Colo., for missionary work. In 2007, he released his first record. From there, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats slowly grew and eventually appeared on tour with The Lumineers in 2013. The band is based in Denver, and its music is described as folk, Americana and vintage rhythm blues.

Popular along the Front Range, the band has sold out concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colo., and has a loyal following. The group is famous for its song “S.O.B.,” which is described as the “anthem of a blue-collar kid from the heartland.” In live performance, Rateliff and his band have been known to mash together “S.O.B.” and the group’s “The Shape I’m In” as the double-barreled climax of their sets.

Dragondeer is a psych-blues band, also from Denver. The band has shared the stage with Shakey Graves, Futurebirds, The Entrance Band and many more artists. Dragondeer has performed throughout the U.S. and abroad.

“Dragondeer delves into some swampy blues and reverb-drenched psych folk,” Westword says.
