Petroleum Industry Exec to Speak to UW MBA Students Wednesday

A successful oil and gas industry executive and member of the University of Wyoming’s Department of Petroleum Engineering advisory board will speak with UW Master of Business Administration (MBA) students at noon Wednesday, March 21, in the College of Business.

Darren Mourre, chief operating officer of Quality Rental Tools, will share his energy management expertise with UW MBA students as part of the MBA Program’s Executive Speaker Series. He also will discuss the influence of private equity in a company’s decisions to grow.

Under Mourre’s leadership, Quality Rental Tools has maintained dedicated relationships with major oil companies and independent operators by providing high-quality equipment rentals that surpass industry standards.

With over two decades of energy management experience spanning multiple continents, Mourre previously served in key leadership roles at RigMinder, Rotary Drilling Tools USA, National Oilwell Varco, Superior Energy Services and Sea Therm Inc.

Mourre holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wyoming in petroleum engineering and also is a certified chartered engineer, chartered petroleum engineer and professional engineer. In addition to his board membership at UW, he serves on the AADE-Deepwater Emerging Technologies Group board.

The MBA Program’s Executive Speaker Series this spring allows UW MBA students the opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions and receive real-world learning experiences from a group of diverse industry leaders, including CEOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, financial service representatives and sports industry executives.

The UW MBA Program is accepting applications for the 2018 fall semester and will admit qualified students on a rolling basis until the cohort group is filled or June 30, whichever comes first, says Tanner Parmely, MBA Program coordinator.
