UWs EORI Contributes to Survey of CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery Projects

The University of Wyoming’s Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI) contributed to a new, comprehensive status report of active carbon dioxide enhanced oil recovery (CO2EOR) projects in the U.S. from 2015-19.

The report may be found here.

Advanced Resources International (ARI) recently published the report, which provides the first update of CO2EOR project data since the final publication of an Oil & Gas Journal survey in 2014. EORI and Steve Melzer -- of Melzer Consulting and a member of the EORI Technical Advisory Board -- were part of the team that developed the report with ARI.

“The Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute is pleased to have been integral in the development of this new report and would like to thank the CO2EOR operators who supported this effort and provided the critical data needed to complete the project,” EORI Director Steve Carpenter says.

The mission of EORI is to facilitate a meaningful and measurable increase in recoverable reserves and production of oil and natural gas in Wyoming that may otherwise not be realized. Key to this is the effective and efficient transfer of relevant technology, information and knowledge to Wyoming producers. EORI believes that its mission is being met when producers consider EORI as a vital source of relevant technology, information, expertise and knowledge for Wyoming fields.
