UW Names Four Finalists for Research VP

Parag Chitnis, Danny Dale, Jayne Morrow and Beth Plale

Finalists for the position of vice president for research and economic development at the University of Wyoming have been identified, and they are scheduled to give public presentations at UW beginning Thursday, Jan. 27.

The candidates are Parag Chitnis, associate director for programs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture; Danny Dale, associate dean in arts and sciences at UW; Jayne Morrow, assistant vice president for research and economic development at Montana State University; and Beth Plale, executive director of the Pervasive Technology Institute at Indiana University-Bloomington.

Each candidate will be on campus for a full two days of engagement, beginning Jan. 27 for the first candidate and ending Tuesday, Feb. 8, for the final candidate. These visits will include public presentations in which the campus community can participate virtually. The topic of the presentations is “A vision for advancing the University of Wyoming’s research, scholarly and creative mission and promoting economic development in the state of Wyoming,” to be followed by questions and answers.
