UW Haub School to Host Wild and Working Lands Film Festival May 5

The University of Wyoming Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources will host the inaugural Wild and Working Lands Film Festival at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Gryphon Theatre, located at 710 E. Garfield St. in Laramie. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The free public festival will feature films set in the surrounding ecoregion of UW, such as the wild and rural areas of the Great Plains, the Rocky Mountains and high desert sagebrush steppe. The festival aims to inspire audiences to better understand the current world and work toward a future where people and natural environments prosper together.

Individuals needing sign language interpreter services can call Grace Carr, an assistant research scientist and outreach coordinator at the Haub School, at (307) 766-5059 or email gcarr1@uwyo.edu by Monday, May 2. Popcorn will be provided, with other snacks and beverages available for purchase.

The UW Biodiversity Institute and the Wyoming Migration Initiative support the festival.

For more information, visit the festival’s website at www.uwyo.edu/haub/events/film-festival/ or email Carr at gcarr1@uwyo.edu.
