Data Services and Spatial Applications for Wyoming

News and Notes

Please visit the Wyoming Geospatial Hub for access to geospatial data and imagery.

Wyoming's Geospatial Data and Imagery Access

The Wyoming Geospatial Hub

The Wyoming Geospatial Hub is the primary site for the discovery and delivery of publicly accessible geospatial data produced, maintained and shared by various partners in the State. This resource consists of three loosely-coupled web applications, GeoHub Explorer, GeoHub Pathfinder and GeoHub Imagery  which provide multiple tools and techniques for finding and downloading data. Data is available in several formats including shapefile, KML, PDF, GeoTiff and CSV. While metadata is available for all geospatial data, only descriptive and contact information are provided for restricted access information.

WyGISC's Publicly Available Applications

WyoBio - The Wyoming Biodiversity Citizen Science Initiative

WyoBio is a tool for citizens, students, teachers, parents, researchers and the generally curious. You can contribute your biodiversity data, view your data on a map, view your friends’ data on a map, download lesson plans, go on a mission to fill in information gaps, download spreadsheets of biodiversity data you’re interested in, and more.

WISDOM - The Wyoming Interagency Spatial Database & Online Management System

WISDOM is an easily accessible web-based delivery system for providing a set of natural resource data layers. This non-regulatory, landscape-level information allows a user to visually explore the distribution of important Wyoming wildlife habitat, identify potential stressors to wildlife, and other relevant data.

DDCT - The Wyoming Density and Disturbance Calculation Tool

The DDCT, is a spatially based tool that calculates both the number of disruptive activities averaged per square mile (640 acres) and total surface disturbance in the DDCT assessment area. The assessment area is created based on buffers around proposed projects in protected sage-grouse core areas, and subsequent buffers around any occupied, core area leks within the first buffer. Limits for disruptive activities and disturbances are outlined by the Governor’s Executive Order 2011-5.

SuiteWater - Wyoming Natural Resources Planning Tool

SuiteWater is a collaborative effort that provides the Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts and their affiliates a GIS platform to support watershed planning. While the main content of SuiteWater is restricted access, the public and interested individuals are welcome to visit SuiteWater's public watershed mapping application Explore YOUR Watershed, which provides basic statistics for Wyoming's watersheds. Statistics include human population, precipitation, temperature, land ownership, elevation, and other variables by watershed.
