SOAR at UW

Competency-Based Experiential Learning

SOAR is UW’s signature experiential learning program — a way for you to turn what you do outside the classroom into meaningful, career-ready skills. Whether you’re leading a student org, doing undergrad research, studying abroad, or volunteering in the community, SOAR helps you track, reflect on and grow from those experiences. It’s all about connecting your interests and activities to skills that matter in the real world — like critical thinking, teamwork, leadership and communication.

You’ll use the Suitable app to track your progress, earn badges and build a portfolio you can share with employers or grad schools.

SOAR helps you track these moments, connect them to your goals and turn them into a powerful foundation for your future.
