Awards for Outstanding Students and Papers

Thanks to the generosity of the Milward L. Simpson Fund, established in honor of former Wyoming Governor Milward L. Simpson to foster the study of political science, the department is able to offer several awards and scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students to further, foster, and advance education and learning in the field of political science at the University of Wyoming. The Simpson Award for Outstanding Graduate Paper in Political Science

One $500 award will be given for the most Outstanding Graduate Paper written for a 5000-level Political Science course during the previous calendar year (spring, summer, or fall term), as selected by the Simpson Scholarship Committee.

 

The Simpson Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Paper in Political Science

One $500 award will be given for the most Outstanding Undergraduate Paper written for a 3000-level or 4000-level Political Science course during the previous (spring, summer, or fall term), as selected by the Simpson Scholarship Committee.

 

The Simpson Award for Outstanding MA Graduate Student in Political Science

One $750 award will be given to the most Outstanding Graduate Student enrolled in the M.A. program in Political Science during the previous academic year, as nominated and selected by the School of Politics, Public Affairs, and International Studies faculty.

 

The Simpson Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Political Science

One $750 award will be given to the most Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Political Science during the previous academic year, as nominated and selected by the School of Politics, Public Affairs, and International Studies faculty.

 

The Simpson Award for Outstanding On-Campus MPA Student in Political Science

One $750 award will be given to the most Outstanding On-Campus Graduate Student enrolled in the MPA program in Political Science during the previous academic year, as nominated and selected by the School of Politics, Public Affairs, and International Studies MPA faculty.

 

The Simpson Award for Outstanding Off-Campus MPA Student in Political Science

One $750 award will be given to the most Outstanding Off-Campus Graduate Student enrolled in the MPA program in Political Science during the previous academic year, as nominated and selected by the School of Politics, Public Affairs, and International Studies MPA faculty.
