Faculty Leadership Institute
The Faculty Leadership Institute (FLI) was created at the request of UW President Seidel as part of a request for proposals (RFP) in conjunction with the Presidential Fellowship Program. The goal of the FLI is to develop faculty leadership skills and prepare participants for roles in university administration. Dr. Gabel Taggart was selected as Presidential Fellow along with Dr. Barbara Hickman as Presidential Fellow Collaborator to develop the 2025–26 FLI. With consultation from Dr. Chase Thiel, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs Dave Bagley, and Leadership Wyoming, they designed a program focused on building both general leadership skills and skills specific to leading universities. The FLI aligns with UW's strategic plan by building opportunity ladders, and rewarding and retaining excellent faculty.
