I grew up in Salida, Colorado, a small town on the Arkansas River. I completed my undergraduate studies at Montana State University in Bozeman. There, I found my way into anthropology and in 2023, took an archaeological field school in San Marcos, Texas. I cut my teeth working on projects in the Beartooth Mountains, where I had the opportunity to work on high alpine Clovis localities, investigate the use of perennial ice patches, and explore the value of paleo-botanicals for reconstructing past environments. Through these experiences I fostered an interest in the intersections of forager lifeways and alpine ecosystems, an area of research I am eager to pursue here at UW.
