Update:
The maintenance for Medicine Bow and other ARCC systems has concluded.  During this work we made several improvements.  The highlights are:

  1. Beartooth has been decommissioned.  All remaining viable hardware is being moved into Medicine Bow.
  2. A new SLURM Queuing Policy has been put into effect.

  5. Data storage for Medicine Bow and Alcova underwent regular security and performance upgrades.

The Medicinebow cluster will be undergoing scheduled maintenance beginning at 8:00AM MST, Monday January 6, 2025.  This maintenance is expected to be completed by Monday January 13th, 2025 at which time the cluster return online and be available for users to run jobs. 

Also effective at 8:00AM MST, Thursday January 2, 2025, the Beartooth cluster will also be taken offline, permanently, in preparation for it's scheduled end-of-life.  Based on prior announcements, Beartooth users should have migrated from Beartooth to Medicinebow before to this date.  

During scheduled maintenance ARCC Infrstructure staff will be performing system updates on Medicinebow, and implementing changes to the Medicinebow SLURM job scheduler.  A detailed description of SLURM changes may be found here.
