ARCC Data Storage

About our Data Storage Options
ARCC offers research data storage as a core service. We currently offer two data storage
services catering to different use cases; Alcova and Pathfinder. Both are available
over the web through Globus.
-
Data Portal [Alcova] is likely appropriate for most users looking for data storage that functions similar to a mapped drive (similar to warehouse storage from IT) but specifically for research data.
-
ARCC S3 [S3 Buckets] is more appropriate as a cloud based option for secondary backup and archival of data, storing and serving static website content, large data set analytics, and to facilitate the open sharing of data through a web URL.
- Wyoming Data Repository [Dataverse] is powered by the Dataverse Project (an open source research data repository application). WDR is meant to serve as the consolidated collection of UW research datasets produced by UW researchers. ARCC works in conjunction wiith qualified data curators at UW Libraries Digital Collections Office to host and maintain this on-premises, cost-effective, sustainable repository. We hope to help make UW research data available to others, allows UW users to replicate work more easily, and help researchers, journals, data authors, publishers, and distributors to recieve academic credit and web visibility. Please contact wyodata@uwyo.edu to consult with UW-Libraries on whether this is an applicable repository for your data set.
