Art Museum Teaches Preschoolers Art

Branding Iron, December 8, 2022 ‖ The University of Wyoming Art Museum recently started incorporating pre-school programming into their weekly children’s activities called ‘Art Explorers.’ 

Every Thursday, parents in the Laramie community are able to bring their pre-school-aged children to Centennial Complex to enjoy an hour-long learning experience that is designed to allow children to engage in sensory material play and to discover how to express themselves through art.

Day of the Dead brought to life at UW Art Museum celebration

Branding Iron, November 1, 2022 ‖ El Día de Los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, was brought to life at The University of Wyoming Art Museum for an evening of cultural exchange and celebration of loved ones lost.

Ofrendas, created by Laramie community members, were on display at the event and will continue to be until the traditional last day of celebration on Nov. 2nd.

Rec Lobe TV at the University of Wyoming Art Museum

Art Spiel, October 3, 2022 ‖ NonCoreProjector is a collective of visual artists, technologists, scientists, and musicians experimenting with physical, biological, conceptual, and political data systems, along with human/AI symbiosis. Their project Rec Lobe TV is currently exhibiting at the University of Wyoming Art Museum through December 23, 2022.

Teen program offers community for aspiring artists

Laramie Boomerang, July 27, 2022 (Pay Wall) ‖ After moving online because of COVID-19, the University of Wyoming Art Museum’s Teen Open Studio Art Program resumes in-person this summer to continue its mission of fostering young artists.

As it returns, teens are invited to attend from 3-5 p.m. Thursdays until the academic year starts, when a new time will be decided.

Branding Iron, June 27, 2022 ‖ A new exhibition is on display at the Univerity of Wyoming Art Museum. This exhibit showcases the queer rodeo community with the photographs by Luke Gilford.

Branding Iron, April 7, 2022 ‖ The UW art museum’s Black and White Gala will fund programs, exhibitions, and other events throughout the year with auctions, dinner and dancing.

Student juried art exhibition displays creativity at UW

Branding Iron, February 28, 2022 ‖ Student artwork is now being shown at the UW art museum as part of the 47th annual juried student exhibition. 

An independent juror selected 55 pieces by 42 artists to be shown in the museum from Feb. 26 - May 14. 42 awards were given to these works at the Feb. 25 reception and awards ceremony.

Two new exhibitions installed in art museum

Branding Iron, January 29, 2022 ‖ Two new exhibitions have been installed in the University of Wyoming Art Museum. While one focuses on systemic racism, consumerism, and environmental degradation, the other focuses on specific classes being taught this spring.
