Women's Work recognizes and celebrates the contributions and accomplishments of women artists in the United States over the last century.
Women's Work was inspired by a dance concert scheduled by the UW Department of Theatre and Dance in March 2007. Choreographed by UW Dance Assistant Professor Margaret Wilsonthe body through which the dream flows. is a conceptual series of sketches that celebrates the spirit, vision, and contributions of women who changed the world through their work. Women's Work, A Century of Art by Women is an exhibition conceived to complement Wilson's dance concert through an exploration of the contributions women have made to the visual arts. Drawn from the museum's collection, the exhibition will include women artists and photographers from the early 20th Century to the present.
