Natalia Ángeles Vieyra

 

Title:

Maher Curatorial Fellow of American Art at the Harvard Art Museums.

 

Biography:

Natalia Ángeles Vieyra is the Maher Curatorial Fellow of American Art at the Harvard Art Museums specializing in the art and material culture of the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean. In her role at Harvard Art Museums, she is developing innovative strategies of incorporating Latin American and Caribbean art into the permanent collections through strategic partnerships with institutions such as the Thoma Foundation and is currently venue curator for a major traveling exhibition of Spanish Colonial art, titled Archive of the World: Art & Imagination in Spanish America, 1500–1800. Before joining Harvard Art Museums, she supported and curated exhibitions at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Her research has been supported by the Smithsonian Institute, the Terra Foundation for American Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Winterthur Museum, and is featured in Print Quarterly and Panorama: Journal of the Association of Historians of American Art.
