By preparing its students to contribute to the communities in which they live, the College of Arts and Sciences essentially informs the future of Wyoming, the United States, and the global community. Through significant research, teaching, and service, College of Arts and Sciences faculty and academic professionals influence the energy industry, environmental and health concerns, education, and the economic development of Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain region. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest and most diverse college at the University of Wyoming. Situated within a land-grant institution, A&S is called to share research findings and to assist Wyoming residents in life-long learning as part of the university's public service mission.
The College of Arts and Sciences offers strong curricula in all its disciplines. Areas of distinction include the performing and creative arts, anthropology, geology, chemistry, and the life sciences. The College of Arts and Sciences enlists the support of A&S alumni and friends to help A&S students "prepare for complete living."
