Studio Wyo was a lab environment sponsored by ASTEC for UW students to gain experience in entertainment industry roles by running a weekly concert series in which students booked bands, promoted the event, set up and ran the concert, with professional support from ASTEC. Studio Wyo featured talented locally based musicians and performers, in an all-ages venue, all organized by University of Wyoming students.
Studio Wyo was first set up by Julian Abas and Andrew Hays in 2012, both previous Coordinators of ASTEC. Following Andrew Hays' departure in 2018, Julian Abas became the sole proprietor of Studio Wyo, until his untimely passing in April of 2020. Following this tragic event, the decision was made to officially end Studio Wyo.
The last and final Studio Wyo show was recorded, then live streamed on the Facebook Studio Wyo page on June 4th, 2020.
