Research Statement

The general theme of Dr. Snider’s research was water in its various phases (vapor, liquid, and ice), water’s interactions with other atmospheric constituents (aerosol and trace gases), and implications of those interactions for clouds, precipitation, and atmospheric pollution. Examples of research he has directed include, 1) precipitation, 2) size distributions of cloud and precipitation particles, 3) cloud condensation nuclei, 4) aerosols, and 5) remote sensing. He addressed these topics by conducting field measurements and by conducting laboratory-based investigations.
