Rajeev Patel

Rajeev Patel is a second-generation entrepreneur and business owner based in Laramie, Wyoming. Having learned business from the ground up in his family's businesses, he has spent his career starting, owning, and operating companies across a wide range of industries, including hospitality, restaurants, retail, fuel and convenience operations, medical billing and collections, commercial real estate, investment, and property development. Today, his primary focus is real estate investment and development.

For more than two decades, Rajeev has been active in business, civic, and nonprofit leadership. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance and as President of the Albany County Public Library Foundation. His previous service includes the Laramie Economic Development Corporation, Albany County Tourism Board, and Choice Hotels International Regional Advisory Board. He has been recognized as the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance Business Person of the Year and as one of Laramie's 20 Under 40. Throughout his career, he has focused on building successful businesses while reinvesting his time and resources into the community where he grew up and built his career.

Rajeev's connection to the University of Wyoming is both personal and longstanding. He attended UW and took courses through the College of Business, where he also met his wife, Jenny, a UW graduate. He later proposed to her on the field at War Memorial Stadium during Homecoming. Their parents and siblings also have connections to UW, and today Rajeev and Jenny are raising their six-year-old son, Ryker, in Laramie.

The Patel family is establishing a scholarship in memory of Rajeev's father, Ushakant "Ken" Patel, a longtime UW supporter, benefiting students through the College of Business and Wyoming Athletics. Rajeev is honored to join the College of Business Advisory Board and looks forward to bringing the perspective of an entrepreneur, employer, investor, and community leader while supporting the next generation of Wyoming business leaders.
