Todd Schutte
Global Director of eLearning and Claims Mitigation
Bona

Todd Schutte has spent more than three decades at Bona building and transforming programs that have helped shape the company's professional business and global development. Today, he serves as Global Director of eLearning and Claims Mitigation for Bona, a century-old Swedish manufacturer providing innovative solutions for premium flooring surfaces.
Todd served for 17 years on Bona's North American senior management team during a period of extraordinary growth. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles across sales, business development, product management, technical education, and professional development, with a particular talent for turning education into a strategic business-development tool.
He and his team built Bona's contractor training program into one of the flooring industry's leading technical education programs. He later created the Bona Certified Craftsman Program, a training and credential program for professional floor craftsmen that became a significant driver of Bona's professional business and was adopted globally. Most recently, Todd developed Bona's eLearning initiative, which now supports customer and colleague development worldwide. His passion is helping people experience the "aha" moment that comes from learning something new, mastering a skill, or discovering a better way to work.
A Wyoming native, Todd grew up in Laramie and earned his B.S. in Finance from the University of Wyoming College of Business in 1989. Dr. Brooks Mitchell's entrepreneurship courses and two Young Entrepreneur conventions helped shape his approach to business and leadership. As a senior, Todd was one of the first two UW students selected for the Atlantic Exchange Program, spending four months in Rotterdam, Netherlands, developing programs for visiting U.S. political and business leaders.
Todd serves on the Board of Directors of Howell Hardwood Flooring and has a long record of community service, including four years as chairman of the Denver St. Jude Walk/Run, which raised more than $1 million during his tenure.
His appointment to the College of Business Advisory Board carries special significance. Todd's late father, Mike Schutte, also a College of Business graduate, served on the UW Board of Trustees, was a Distinguished Alumnus, and co-founded the Cowboy Joe Club. The opportunity to follow in his father's footsteps, give back to UW, and help shape the future of the College of Business is a special honor.
