Her healthcare career began in 1999, providing her with more than two decades of experience across multiple healthcare settings and roles. As a former Air Force medic, she developed a strong foundation in patient care, clinical excellence, teamwork, and service under pressure. These experiences have shaped her commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care while addressing the diverse needs of individuals, families, and communities. She is particularly passionate about improving maternal and child health outcomes, advancing preventive and community-based healthcare initiatives, advocating for veterans’ rights and access to quality healthcare, and providing high-quality care in acute and emergency settings. Her military service continues to inspire my commitment to supporting veterans and ensuring they receive the care, resources, and respect they deserve.
Personal Ineterst: Outside of medicine, Dr. Yelton enjoys staying active and connected with my family, friends, and community. Her personal interests include running, cooking, baking sourdough bread, visiting large bodies of water, gardening, painting, quilting, and roller skating. She also enjoys dancing with her husband, hosting game nights with her children and friends, and volunteering in her community.
