Resident Rotations

The educational experience is divided into 36 month-long block rotations. In addition, certain components of the curriculum, such as practice management, are completed in a longitudinal fashion. The curriculum is designed to meet the requirements of the Program Requirements of the Residency Review Committee of Family Medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Program Requirements  in Family Medicine.

  • Family Medicine In-Patient Service 4 months

  • Maternal-Newborn 2 months

  • Inpatient Pediatric 1 month

  • Women’s Health 1 month

  • General Surgery 1 month

  • Geriatrics/Radiology 1 month

  • Community Medicine 1 month

  • Emergency Medicine 1 month

PGY 2 Curriculum

  • Family Medicine In-Patient Service 2 months

  • Sports Medicine 1 month

  • Maternal-Newborn 2 months

  • General Surgery 1 month

  • Outpatient Pediatrics 1 month

  • ICU/CCU 1 month

  • Pediatric ER 1 month

  • Emergency Medicine 1 month

  • Elective (in town) 2 months

 

PGY 3 Curriculum

  • Ambulatory/Emergency Medicine (VA) 1 month

  • Family Medicine Service/Supervising Resident for FM Service 2 months

  • Orthopedic Surgery (VA) 1 month

  • Dermatology 1 month

  • Wyoming Rural/Continuity Clinic 1 month

  • Electives (one can be out of town) 5 months

  • Outpatient Pediatrics  1 month
