Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management
Course Computer Requirement
Students are required to have a laptop or tablet computer they can bring to class in the following Architectural/Civil Engineering courses:- ARE 1600, 2600, 3600, 4600
- ARE 4430, and ARE 4490
- CE 1010, 4010
- CE 3400, 4400, 4410
- ARE/CE 3000
The computer must be capable of running Autodesk software and Microsoft Office 365, which can be downloaded for free from UW. A capable laptop can be purchased for $1,000 or less. Learn more about the suggested specifications.
For students with limited financial means:
- Laptops are available to check out on a limited basis from UW Information Technology. Find out how to check out a laptop.
- Need-based laptop scholarships may be awarded on a case-by-case basis from the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management. Visit the main office (Engineering Building Room 3074) to find out more.
