School District Superintendent Certificate Curriculum Requirements
Educational Leadership
Required Courses (26 credit hours)
Students must complete 26 credit hours of the courses listed below. Students who have
at least two years prior experience as a superintendent are not required to take EDAD
5580 Internship.
- EDAD 5580 Supervised Internship in Educational Leadership (2 cr hours)
- EDAD 5650 Educational Leader as Communicator (3 cr hours)
- EDAD 5700 Educational Leader for Instruction (3 cr hours)
- EDAD 5720 Educational Leader as Change Agent (3 cr hours)
- EDAD 5750 Educational Leader for the School Board & Community (3 cr hours)
- EDAD 5800 Educational Leader as Resource Manager (3 cr hours)
- EDAD 5815 Advanced School Law (3 cr hours)
- EDAD 5850 Educational Leader as Direction Setter (3 cr hours)
One Elective Course (3 cr hrs) 5000 level course of the student’s choice and may
be earned in HIED 5630, EDCI 5665, or certain courses in LDTE, check with your advisor
if you have questions.
