Online Instruction Certificate Curriculum Requirements

Focusing on our mission to develop competent professionals who can select, integrate, design, develop, implement, and evaluate effective instruction in a variety of learning environments and settings, the requirements include four online courses.

Required Courses (12 credit hours)

  • ITEC 5030: Introduction to Online Teaching (3 credit hours)
  • ITEC 5020: Technology and Distance Education (3 credit hours)
  • ITEC 5160: Introduction to Instructional Design (3 credit hours)
  • ITEC 5510: Instructional Telecommunications (3 credit hours)

*Beginning Fall 2021, the following courses will begin. Students may combine ITEC and LDTE courses to complete the Certificate. Please work with your advisor.

  • LDTE 5000: Theoretical Foundations of Learning, Design, and Technology (3 credit hours)
  • LDTE 5100: Innovative Pedagogy (3 credit hours)
  • LDTE 5120: Managing Design & Technology (3 credit hours)
  • LDTE 5210: Learning Experience Design (3 credit hours)
