LRCC's Leaders in Literacy Award

The LRCC's Leaders in Literacy Award honors the people and organizations who are making a lasting difference in literacy across Wyoming. Each year, the award recognizes Wyoming citizens, businesses, organizations, and communities whose leadership, service, and commitment have expanded literacy opportunities and enriched the lives of learners throughout the state.

Established in 2016 by the LRCC Outreach Advisory Board as the First Lady's Leaders in Literacy Award, the honor was created in recognition of Wyoming's former First Lady Carol Mead and her dedication to promoting literacy and education across the state. In 2019, the award was renamed the Carol Mead Leaders in Literacy Award. In 2026, the award became the LRCC's Leaders in Literacy Award, continuing its tradition of celebrating those who demonstrate exceptional leadership and commitment to literacy in Wyoming.

After a brief hiatus, the Literacy Research Center and Clinic is proud to reinstate this tradition. Through the LRCC's Leaders in Literacy Award, we continue to recognize and celebrate the outstanding individuals, organizations, businesses, and communities whose efforts strengthen literacy, expand opportunities for learners, and foster a lifelong love of reading and learning throughout Wyoming.
