StartRight+ Overview
What is it?
What is it? StartRight+ is a digital-first, equitable access (EA) course material program designed to provide all undergraduate and graduate students with their required textbooks and written course materials for a flat rate each semester:
- $275 for undergraduate students
- $120 for graduate students
The program simplifies the process of acquiring course materials by providing access on or before the first day of class—ensuring students are prepared, supported, and stress-free from the start. You can access your textbooks through Canvas by clicking the “My Textbooks” tab within each course module. You can also use the Bookshelf app to download materials, read offline, and take advantage of built-in study tools like highlighting and note-taking.
What is included?
What’s Included: StartRight+ provides all required written course materials, in either eBook or print format—depending on availability.(If a digital format is available, that is what we will offer through the program.) This includes:
- eBooks
- Printed books (if no digital version is available)
- Lab manuals
- Course packets/workbooks
What is not included?
StartRight+ does not cover supplemental course supplies such as:
- Lab coats
- Goggles
- Art supplies
- Clickers or hardware devices
These items must be purchased separately through the University Store.

All required course materials are provided at one low, predictable flat rate—making course materials more affordable and accessible for all students, regardless of major. The cost is covered by financial aid and applied directly to your student account. For the 2024–2025 academic year:
● Undergraduate students pay a flat rate of $275 per semester
● Graduate students pay a flat rate of $120 per semester
StartRight+ ensures every student has access to their materials from day one—supporting success without the surprise of unexpected textbook costs.
Convenience
StartRight+ removes the stress of tracking down textbooks at the start of the semester. Once enrolled in courses, students automatically receive access to their required materials via Canvas (WyoCourses) → “My Textbooks” tab. No searching, no waiting—just seamless access to everything you need to hit the ground running.

StartRight+ empowers students to explore their academic interests without worrying about the cost of course materials. With guaranteed access to required content from day one, students can begin learning immediately—no delays, no barriers. Materials are provided in a digital-first format, with user-friendly tools for note-taking, highlighting, and studying—on or offline.

StartRight+ is committed to reducing environmental impact by delivering materials digitally whenever possible. By minimizing printing and shipping, the program helps reduce waste and contributes to a more sustainable campus.
