The main focus of my research, teaching and service/outreach is insect biology, behavior and ecology and the use of insects for biological control of rangeland weeds. For many non-native weed species, biological control seeks to re-unite the weed with the specialized insect herbivores (biological control agents) from the plant's native range with the goal of reducing weed infestations through insect feeding.

Service & Outreach
My service and outreach involves education and implementation of biological control of weeds in Wyoming. The main implementation work I am currently involved in are biological control programs for Russian knapweed, Russian olive and Hoary Cress. Educational outreach includes a recent handbook: A Concise Guide to Weed Biological Control in Wyoming.
