Teaching Standards:

In this module, a waterproof temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature and relay the measured temperature data to a Raspberry Pi. A software application implemented using the Python3 Programming language is executed on the Raspberry Pi to collect the temperature readings from the water proof temperature sensor. The application has the capability to display graphically in real time on a screen interfaced with the RPi.  The application will also turn on a LED interfaced to the RPi to indicate a large temperature change or when the measured temperature violates the limits of the sensor. The graphical display of the measured temperature with time can be saved for offline analysis of the measured temperature. This module addresses chart making, axis, labels, and units configuration using the Python3 programming language. The measurement module is capable of measuring temperatures ranging from -55°C to 125°C.

The presentation material and the code can be downloaded at Water Temperature Sensor.
