research
I am a sedimentologist/geomorphologist with research interests in the processes and products of Earth's surface evolution—mostly the mechanics and expressions of sediment transport through channelized systems in landscapes and seascapes. These topics broadly encompass my research:
- Dynamics of alluvial channel systems and their relation to sediment transport and strata
- Sedimentation rates and processes in lakes and reservoirs
- Expressions of natural and anthropogenic changes to the physical environment,
- Fluvial environments as physical habitats
- Channelized submarine transport systems including comparison with fluvial systems
- Process controls on deltas and their strata
- Interpretation of Earth’s past environments
- Planetary-scale sediment dynamics
