Costs

The University of Wyoming offers this course to UW students, both residents and non-resident students, at resident tuition rates.

UW Student Costs

Tuition and fees for 2025 are $3539.39 (break down of costs – tuition: $173/credit hour * 6 credit hours = $1038; summer Fees: $209.39 (flat rate) + $32.00/credit hour * 6 credit hours = $388.12, and the field camp course fee = $350/credit hour * 6 credit hours = $2100).

The field course fee covers transportation during fieldwork, course supplies, some instructional costs, meals, and lodging while away from Laramie.  While in Laramie or working from Laramie, meals (including lunch) and lodging are not covered.

Non-UW student Costs

Non-UW students must apply to UW as non-degree-seeking main campus students ($40 application fee; https://www.uwyo.edu/admissions/apply.html).

Tuition and fees for 2025 are $3539.39 (break down of costs – tuition: $173/credit hour * 6 credit hours = $1038; summer Fees: $209.39 (flat rate) + $32.00/credit hour * 6 credit hours = $388.12, and the field camp course fee = $350/credit hour * 6 credit hours = $2100).

All sections start and end in Laramie, WY.  Non-UW students are responsible for their travel costs to and from Laramie, and their meals and lodging in Laramie (see schedule above). Housing while in Laramie can be available in nearby hotels or in UW dorm rooms for an additional cost (see below).

DORM COSTS:

Here is a link to “Flexible Housing” with the 2024 rates. The 2025 rates are not yet determined.

https://www.uwyo.edu/living/housing/rates.html#flexiblehousing.

The weekly rate in 2024 was $204 for single occupancy.  I was told by Amber Vigil, Coordinator, Camps & Conferences Housing, that the 2025 rates would be only a "tiny bit higher”.

If you stay in the dorm for more than one-week, which will be the case for the Geophysics week,  you will need to buy a meal plan which is currently listed as $150/week for 10 meals and $200/week for 15 meals https://www.uwyo.edu/living/housing/rates.html
