A day of presentations, panel discussion and community workshop about water and agriculture on the Wind River Indian Reservation. The theme of the 2024 annual South Dakota Indian Education Summit is Woksape nahan Wookannige Ptaya Najin Au [Knowledge and Understanding brings Unity]. This summit is focused on education, health and well-being of youth through embracing and teaching the history and culture of the Oceti Sakowin Oyate. Additional seminars involve development of mental, social, and spiritual growth. This year’s summit will consist of one day with multiple breakout sessions in the afternoon. Tribal Energy Summit

The University of Wyoming hosted the 2024 Indian Energy Summit on October 17, and the event reached well over a couple of hundred attendees (164 in-person and 64 online). Jake Bolster of Inside Climate News covered the event via WyoFile Oct. 22 in his article, "At Inaugural Tribal Energy Summit, Carbon Capture, Critical Minerals and Sovereignty Take Center Stage."
