Aaron Johnson
Director of Instruction
As a Laramie native, Aaron played high school golf for Laramie High School and played
college golf for the University of Wyoming in 2008-09.
Aaron Turned professional in 2009 and starting working at Jacoby Golf Course as an
assistant professional to Joe Jensen.
In 2015 Aaron became the Director of Instruction at Jacoby Golf Course and is in his
4th season in that position. Aaron is committed to teaching and growing the game of
golf in Laramie and loves seeing how Laramie’s golfing community has grown.
In 2017 Aaron took over as the Executive Director of the University of Wyoming First
Tee Junior Golf program. Helping introduce junior golfers to the game of golf and
helping them grow as golfers and as young people. Aaron’s passion is teaching junior
golfers and helping them work toward goals of playing college and professional golf.
In 2016 Aaron, with the help of Joe Jensen and Skiy Martin, and with the help of title
sponsor Toyota of Laramie, started the Laramie Open. A professional golf tournament
hosted at Jacoby golf course that attracts the regions best traveling professionals.
Growing up at Jacoby and playing professional golf for almost 10 years it was a goal
of Aaron’s to host a professional event at Jacoby. 2018 will be the 3rd annual Laramie
open and the event is growing every year.
Aaron is also the golf course representative to the Jacoby Men’s Club held on Thursday
evenings and Jacoby Ladies club held on Tuesdays.
