Academic Success Class (STEP 1105)

Taught primarily by faculty in the LeaRN Department, this class covers  a range of crucial topics, including study skills, time management, major and career paths, and setting goals for the spring semester and beyond. 

Students reflect on their reasons for attending college, connect with campus offices and resources, and make plans for future success. Class sizes range from 15-20 students, allowing students to build a sense of community, and giving instructors the ability to meet one-on-one with their students.

Why Choose the Course?

This 2-credit course is focused on academic recovery, reflection, academic integration, and community-building. In 13 weeks, various topics are covered, including academic recovery and major/degree plan, growth mindset, study habits, time & attention management, campus resources, next steps (financial literacy, education abroad, internships, scholarships).
