Incoming University of Wyoming President Ed Seidel has reviewed nominations from members of the UW community for the university’s interim provost/vice president for academic affairs.
Seidel received nominations from dozens of faculty and staff members in response to his request in April.
“I appreciate the input I received in response to my request for nominations,” Seidel says. “I will interview top candidates and announce a selection as soon as possible.”
The president-elect is consulting with various university stakeholders to consider candidates and select an acting vice president for academic affairs to take the position July 1, with UW Board of Trustees approval. That person will serve until a new provost is selected. A national search is planned to begin in September.
Seidel, who will officially assume the UW presidency July 1, is meeting regularly via distance technologies with Acting President Neil Theobald and other university administrators as part of the transition process.
